Impact

The goal of this scholarship is to provide financial relief to students during their senior-level 260 hour practicum. Your support directly empowers BCR students to continue their education, engage in meaningful community work, and advocate for inclusive and equitable systems. Testimonials of past winners highlight the real-world impact of this scholarship, emphasizing how financial support reduces barriers, affirms student potential, and strengthens the future of leaders in the disability sector.

Fundraising

This scholarship is currently funded through the Students’ Union Quality Money Project and is secured until the end of the 2029-2030 academic year. To ensure long-term sustainability beyond this period, we are seeking financial contributions and partnership support from community organizations.

Long-term goals include establishing an endowed or pooled community fund to protect the scholarship from future funding precarity.

What we're asking: We are asking for organizations to invest in our students through: - One-time donations, - Annual or multi-year funding commitments. We are seeking an annual commitment of approximately $5,000 for up to a 5-year donation period. However, we are able to arrange and accommodate accordingly.

What we're asking:

Why sponsor? Partnered organizations will: - Directly invest in students entering the disability services workforce - Demonstrate sector leadership and commitment to equity and inclusion - Be acknowledged (with consent) in scholarship materials, reports, and events - Organizations logo will also be included in all promotional materials related to the scholarship, including our website, and can be named within the scholarship

Past Winners & Testimonials

"This scholarship makes it possible for me to immerse myself in my senior-level practicum with CADS Calgary... I am passionate about sharing my love of sports with others, and can personally attest to how beneficial they have been to me in my own journey. I hope to become a physiotherapist or occupational therapist in the near future, and thank the CRDS program wholeheartedly for their support in my dream."
